Dr. Agnieszka (Aga) Burzynska is a neuroscientist with 15+ years of experience in ageing research. Her expertise is in cognitive health and brain imaging using MRI, including quantitative MRI. Her expertise lies in risk and protective factors in brain aging and dementia prevention, especially linked to physical activity and metabolic health. In 2015-2025 she was the director of the BRAiN Lab and professor at Colorado State University in USA, where she led research on advanced white matter imaging. In 2025, she joined SHARE Berlin Institute as the Coordinator of Research. At SHARE, Aga’s research focuses on health determinants of dementia risk using the SHARE-HCAP data and she supports multiple interdisciplinary projects.
