SUMMARY:TUESDAY DIALOGUES: Children with Disabilities in Families and at School
DESCRIPTION:Kinder mit Behinderungen in Familien und in der Schule \nChildren with disabilities are all too often an invisible population\, despite numbering more than 240 million worldwide and around 3.5 million in Europe. What does it mean to live day to day with a child or a sibling with a disability within the family? And what spillover effects arise in classroom dynamics when children are exposed to the disability of a classmate? This talk addresses these questions\, examining the consequences for families and schools\, and concludes by highlighting relevant policy implications. \nKinder mit Behinderungen sind allzu oft eine unsichtbare Bevölkerungsgruppe\, obwohl es weltweit mehr als 240 Millionen und in Europa rund 3\,5 Millionen gibt. Was bedeutet es\, im Alltag mit einem Kind oder einem Geschwister mit einer Behinderung in der Familie zu leben? Und welche Spillover-Effekte ergeben sich für die Klassendynamik\, wenn Kinder mit der Behinderung eines Mitschülers oder einer Mitschülerin konfrontiert sind?
